Newest commission completed! "Jesus and St Teresa of Avila exchanging Hearts" 40x60 for the Carmelite Fathers of Arizona. This painting will hang inside the Church of Santa Cruz, Tucson Arizona.
A lesser acknowledged St Teresa (St Therese of Lisieux, being more widely known) she lived in Spain in the 1500s and is considered one of the founders of the modern day Carmelites, along with St John of the Cross.. as well as an important Doctor of the Church. This painting is based on her many visions of Jesus. This shows the gentle exchange of Love between them. It shows a Resurrected Christ, although most of the visions were with a suffering Christ. It was decided among the Friars to show a Risen Christ as it was her first vision of Jesus.
