The Crowell Library in San Marino hosted a Large fundraiser and had an international theme. Many countries were displayed throughout the library in spectacular scenes and props. International foods were served as well as entertainment. It was a gala affair that went quite well and netted around $50,000. My son Ed, who works at the Library did an interesting display of the Venice Canals using tiny lights with blue silk laid over the lights to give a shimmering water effect... buildings were downloaded from the computer as well as the gondolas and boatmen! I was asked to provide copies of Picasso for the Barcelona, Spain exhibit. I was so impressed with Picasso after doing these copies... he was so innovative... and there is so much emotion... composition and color in his work. He was truly a Genius! As a Realist, I first thought it would be "easy" to copy his work. I was so wrong! It was actually quite difficult! I used acrylic for the first time. For drying speed and brilliant color, I loved using this medium! I have a new admiration and respect now for Picasso! In addition to the Picassos I put up painting a portrait for the silent auction. The portrait of Carrie Wilson was displayed as a sample. Got a bid!
